This post is about words connected to sight. So, to start off, we watch things that move and we look at things that don’t. Easy huh?
So, we watch TV, a movie, a hockey game, a race and of course (from the song) the girls going by.
We can watch the sunset (the sun is moving down).
We look at TVs in the TV shop (the whole device) if we want to buy one. We look at pictures, magazines, photos and the beautiful view. We look in a mirror.
I heard someone behind me and glanced over my shoulder (a quick look).
He was staring at me (a long intense look that made me uncomfortable).
She gazed at him with love in her eyes (a long look with positive thoughts behind the eyes).
