Each member of your audience is an individual – try to make your delivery personal.

You will have heard that the key to the success of any business is location, location, location. Well, the key to the success of any great presentation is preparation, preparation, preparation.

The first step is to ask yourself these three questions:

What are you trying to say?
Why are you saying it?
How does your product, idea or concept benefit the listener?

These questions may seem obvious, but (particularly if you have been given someone else’s material to use) if you don’t know the answers, this will show in your delivery.

The second step is to pitch the presentation to the audience. This means using language that they will understand (are they all native English speakers?), this means being on their level, this means quoting benefits that they will relate to.
